The Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center at Eastern Virginia Medical School is in search of a strong candidate to fulfill the duties of a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Cancer Center.

This position will work under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Amy Tang. A strong background and prior research experiences in clinical and preclinical models of breast cancer, PDX models, tumor immunology, tumor/TME biology, tumor immunology, and/or systems biology will be a clear advantage. The position will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the laboratory including maintenance, ordering, and reporting. Ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic environment and flexibility to work in a fast-paced team in a professional and pleasant manner is a necessity.  

Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to conduct data analyses, write scientific manuscripts in a timely fashion. Ability to effectively communicate with Dr. Tang’s PhD/MD/MS students and EVMS researchers/staffs. It is essential that the candidate is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in a professional and pleasant manner onsite.   Successful PhD applicants must have at least 1-2x first author publications from his/her PhD training and have proven excellence in scientific creativity and curiosity, positive can-do attitude, great work ethic, and demonstrated high-quality work and wonderful productivity.   EVMS is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer of minorities, females, individuals with disabilities and protected veterans and is a drug and tobacco free workplace.
