Mechanosensitive proteins in smooth muscle and endothelial cells
Postdoctoral position immediately available to study physiological functions and pathological alterations in mechanosensitive proteins in arterial smooth muscle and endothelial cells. Projects include studying signaling mechanisms, trafficking and regulation of blood pressure by mechanosensitive proteins. Techniques used include RT-PCR, Western blotting, biotinylation, immunofluorescence, FRET, calcium imaging, pressurized artery myography, blood pressure telemetry and conditional knockout mouse models. Experience with molecular biology, biochemistry and cardiovascular physiology preferred.
