Assistant Professor of Cognitive or Behavioral Neuroscience; Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology within the Division of Social Sciences at UC San Diego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Behavioral Neuroscience or Cognitive Neuroscience. Candidates research should address fundamental questions related to the neural mechanisms of behavior using modern/cutting-edge conceptual, experimental and technical approaches in human or non-human animal models. Candidates with interests in the areas of motor control, executive function, social interaction, affective mechanisms, and/or development are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Department of Psychology provides a hub for Behavioral Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience research integrated within the broader, world-leading, Neurosciences community at UC San Diego. Our members are often affiliated with The Neurosciences Graduate Program at UC San Diego. We are committed to academic excellence, equity, diversity, and inclusion for faculty, staff, and the student body.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate students within the Department of Psychology. All candidates are expected to establish a vigorous program of high-quality funded research.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Review of applications will begin November 18, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.
A PhD or ABD in Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field is required by the start of appointment, as well as a record of publishable research in any area of behavioral neuroscience or cognitive neuroscience. Demonstrated teaching excellence is preferred. In addition to excellence and creativity in research and scholarship, the preferred candidate demonstrates a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education.
