The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Pharmacology at the Assistant / Associate Professor level. The search is focused on adding expertise in cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology / pathophysiology / pharmacology along with other areas of cardiovascular biology relevant to drug discovery / development.

The University of Houston is a Carnegie-Designated Tier 1 public research university and also a member institution of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center which houses major academic research programs in cancer, genetics, and neuroscience with a major focus on translational research. The college and department recently moved into a new state-of-the-art building with exceptional research facilities and teaching resources. The successful candidate will be provided lab space and receive a start-up package commensurate with his / her qualifications. Department faculty members teach in the Pharm.D. professional program and Ph.D. programs in Pharmacology.

Eligible candidates must have earned a doctoral degree, have postdoctoral experience, an excellent publication record, and a strong track record for establishing and maintaining an excellent extramurally-funded research program.
