PostDoc Research Associate- UIC Department of Surgery 

The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a postdoctoral research associate.

A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated candidate with terminal PhD or equivalent in cancer biology or related field.

This is a full-time appointment on a twelve-month service basis covered by research funding. This appointment is limited to a maximum of four years and continued employment from year-to-year is contingent upon continued funding. The successful candidate will participate actively in the execution of preclinical research projects and ensure smooth functioning of the lab’s day to day activities.

Duties: 

  • Maintain compliance with good laboratory practice including the maintenance of adequate research records
  • Develop proficiency in research techniques and problem-solving abilities
  • Participate in manuscript and grant writing
  • Build a publication record
  • Collegial conduct


Qualifications:

A recent PhD in cancer biology or related field

Experience with handling and using rodent models
