The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons seeks to fill a position for the Chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. This position will be associated with a tenured- faculty position at the Full Professor level.  We welcome applications from outstanding scientists, with an international reputation in the fields of or related to biochemistry/molecular biology, structural biology.

 

Applicants should have a PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree, substantial international stature, and expertise in managing large-scale research programs.

 

The candidate will be expected to develop innovative research programs for the Columbia University Department of Biochemistry. He or she will also be expected to conduct vibrant, externally funded research, as well as participate in graduate and medical student teaching. In addition to a generous start-up and recruitment package, an endowed chair is available for this position.
