The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Department is positioned to undergo continued growth in the coming few years, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and cutting-edge core research facilities. We invite all applicants who have research programs that complement department interests, in areas such as cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, immunology, medicinal chemistry, neuroscience, pharmaceutics, skeletal muscle physiology, or any other area relevant to drug discovery and development, to apply.

Competitive applicants will have an earned doctoral degree, postdoctoral training, a strong publication record, extramural funding, and will be expected to build a vigorous research program. Applicants should be committed to teaching graduate and professional students, and should expect to contribute to a robust program of graduate-level research training. The appointment will include a competitive salary commensurate with experience, excellent benefits, an attractive start-up package, and modern laboratory space.

Qualifications

Eligible candidates for an Assistant Professor position must have earned a doctoral degree, and demonstrated a strong track record of scholarly productivity.  Candidates with extramurally-funded research programs are preferred.
