in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology: Southwest USA
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center – Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
Postdoctoral position available for highly skilled and motivated candidates are available in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology (MGM) to study Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Inflammation. Position will provide broad career training and a highly collaborative research environment with NIH-funded PIs who employ novel and state-of-the art approaches and technologies. Research topics broadly include: Neuroimmunology of dementias (Kiran Bhaskar), T-cell Movement (Judy Cannon), Vaccines for chronic and infectious diseases (Bryce Chackerian), Autophagy (Vojo Deretic), Antibodies in Infectious Disease (Kathryn Frietze), Hantavirus-host interactions (Alison Kell), SNARE proteins in Autophagy (Suresh Kumar), Regulators of Autophagy (Michael Mandell), Tumor Immunology (Paulus Mrass), Chromatin Structure & Function (Mary Ann Osley), Papillomavirus Infections & Viral Oncology (Michelle Ozbun), Bacteriophage Particles for Translational Applications (David Peabody), Lysosome Positioning, Metabolism & Cancer (Jing Pu), T-cell Tolerance and Autoimmunity (Robert Rubin), T-cells in Inflammation (Xuexian Yang). The MGM Department has a vibrant and successful postdoc-to-faculty career development program.
Candidates with appropriate doctoral degree required. A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Virology or Genetics preferred. Eligible individual will have access to NIH NRSA T32 Fellowships and will be encouraged to submit other NIH NRSA Fellowships.
