Job Details

The primary role of this Sr Business Systems Analyst position is to lead analysis, execution and user interaction of the business aspect of clinical research application implementations and the provisioning of research IS services and infrastructure. The position will help scope and deliver three or more medium to highly complex IS projects/service requests concurrently to fulfill MD Anderson's clinical research needs

***Ideal candidates will have p roven experience in clinical research applications related to Epic integration and HL7, RECIST for diagnostic imaging studies, REDCap for study management, ETL tools and/or SAP for analytic reporting***

Scope of Work
Works with sponsors and leadership to formulate project/operation objectives and scope of work based on user needs, a good understanding of the technical environment and sound business analysis practices.

Business Analysis
Captures, analyzes and prioritizes business requirements in the areas of research IS infrastructure, information security compliance, clinical research applications, EHR/Epic integration, and business process optimization and automation. Partners with subject matter experts (SME's) and solution architects to translate business requirements to technical specifications for implementation.

Documentation and User Interface
Provides business requirement documentations and UI mockups/wireframes pertaining to user's needs.

User Acceptance Test, Demo and Training
Enables Quality Assurance team to fully understand requirements to conduct functional and user acceptance tests. Demos applications being implemented regularly to end users. Provides User Acceptance Test (UAT) plan and test scripts. Conducts UAT tests with users. Conducts user training.

Technical Competency
Stays current on IT and bioinformatics related technologies. Evaluates/proposes commercial, off-the-shelf products and integrations over customized solutions to meet user's needs.

BA Procedures and Best Practices
Establishes/Enhances business analysis procedures and best practices for the reporting organization.

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree.

Experience Required:

Five years experience in domain, project management , workflow analysis or Epic software. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.

Preferred Experience:

1. Seven years of experience in web-based application, IS infrastructure, project management or workflow analysis.

2. Five years of experience in implementing web applications and/or IS infrastructure (e.g., information security, big data, storage system, high performance computing, external collaboration,

3. P roven experience in clinical research applications related to Epic integration and HL7, RECIST for diagnostic imaging studies, REDCap for study management, ETL tools and/or SAP for analytic reporting

4. Three years of experience in working with domestic or offshore vendors.

5. Two years of experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

6. Proficiency in productivity tools (Jira, Visio, Creative Suite, etc.) to create plans, documentations, workflow diagrams and mock-ups, etc.

7. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to communicate and document user interactions and requirements. Excellent presentation skills for demo and user training,

8. Demonstrated ability to take initiatives, establish/enhance business analysis procedures and improve operational efficiency.

9. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
