The Center for Skeletal Biology and Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) invites applications for a faculty position. We are looking for investigators with focus and demonstrated track record in the areas of musculoskeletal biology and integrative biology, including pain and tendon research. Appointment and salary will be at the rank/level appropriate for achievement and experience (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels) in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics and Orthopedic Surgery or other relevant clinical Departments. 

The successful candidate will join a dynamic group of investigators based in the various institutions of the world's largest medical center, interacting under the umbrella of the Lawrence Bone Disease Program (https://txbonediseaseprogram.org). The program regroups over 30 laboratories at Baylor College of Medicine, UT Health Science Center and MDA Cancer Center and offers accessibility to multiple state-of-the-art cores and equipment, as well as continuous scientific exchanges via various activities between members, from trainees to senior faculty. 

Baylor College of Medicineis recognized as one of the nation’s premier academic health science centers, known for excellence in education, research, healthcare and community service. Among genetics departments at U.S. medical schools, the BCM Department of Molecular and Human Genetics (https://www.bcm.edu/departments/molecular-and-human-genetics/) ranks first in both number of grants and total funding from the National Institutes of Health. The Department has over $100 million in total research funding, 70 primary tenured and tenure-track research faculty members and a total of 160 primary faculty members, who are engaged in a variety of missions including basic and translational research, clinical diagnostic services, prenatal, pediatric and adult clinical care.
