The Department of Plant Biology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenuretrack faculty position in plant molecular genetics, beginning August 1, 2020, at the level of Assistant Professor. We are especially interested in experimental biologists who focus on the
mechanistic basis of gene regulation to address fundamental questions in plant biology.

Preference will be given to candidates who are using genetics, epigenetics, biotechnology or synthetic biology in their research plan. There are outstanding opportunities for collaborations among faculty in the Plant Center, and access to the Georgia Genomics and  Bioinformatics Center, the Microscopy Core, and Advanced Computing Resources.  Competitive applicants will have a strong research record, demonstrate a well-developed research plan, and exhibit a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A PhD (or equivalent) in plant science or a related field is required at time of appointment; 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Candidates should submit application materials electronically (http://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/125638): 1) cover letter, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) statement of research interests and goals (no more than 3 pages), and 4) a statement of teaching accomplishments and philosophy. Candidates should additionally arrange for the
submission of a minimum of 3 letters of recommendation to pbio-positions@plantbio.uga.edu.

Questions may be directed to the Search Committee at this e-mail address. Completed applications (including letters) received by November 29, 2019 are assured full consideration.
