The Valdez lab (http://valdezlab.com/ and https://vivo.brown.edu/display/gvaldez1) at Brown University is looking to add highly-motivated individuals to study mechanisms of neuromuscular function and degeneration with aging and in diseases. The candidate should have an interest in studying fundamental processes of nerve and muscle regeneration, and in developing strategies to treat diseases that affect skeletal muscle and innervating neurons. Studies will be performed in rodents, using in vivo and in vitro assays that include histological, molecular, biochemical, electrophysiological, high-resolution imaging, and behavioral assays
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences with a particular focus on cellular and molecular biology. Experience with histological, neuronal culture, molecular biology and with mouse husbandry are essential.
