Over the past decades, the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center (RADC) has carried out numerous community-based clinical-pathologic cohort studies and generated multi-omic data from human specimens (https://www.radc.rush.edu/).  The Human Cell Modeling Group at RADC is using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), direct lineage conversion and CRISPR/Cas9-based genetic approaches to investigate disease molecular mechanisms and discover genetic drivers of Alzheimer's disease. To expand this ongoing effort, we are seeking two highly motivated Post-Doctoral Scientists in Human Stem Cell Modeling and Genome Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop novel multicellular 2D and 3D brain models using human iPSCs
  • Conduct CRISPR/Cas9-based genetic screening and genome engineering to identify potential disease driver genes
  • Develop molecular, cellular and functional assays to measure AD disease phenotypes
  • Develop High-Throughput Screening and High-Content Analysis platforms for genetic/compound screening

Requirements

  • PhD or MD or equivalent degree in the fields of stem cell biology, developmental neurobiology, neuroscience, molecular biology, functional genomics or related fields
  • Excellent skills and experience in human iPSC derivation, stem cell culture, neural differentiation and direct neural lineage conversion
  • Excellent skills and experience in CRISPR/Cas9-based genetic screening and cell line engineering
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in molecular biology and genetics/genomics including DNA/RNA isolation and manipulation, vector cloning, PCR and qPCR
