Assistant Professor Position in Physiology and Biochemistry

The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking two tenure track faculty members at the assistant professor level, with research expertise in biochemistry and animal physiology.

The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous extramurally-funded, independent research program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. with a demonstrated potential for high quality research and teaching excellence. A minimum of three years of postdoctoral experience is preferred. We are especially interested in recruiting candidates who are committed to the teaching, advising and mentorship of an increasingly diverse student population.  The position will include a competitive startup, salary and benefits. Marquette University is committed to diversity and equity for all, regardless of age, culture, faith, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, language, disability and social class. The campus is located in downtown Milwaukee: a welcoming city comprised of many diverse cultures, religions, and identities.

Assistant Professor in Animal Physiology

We are seeking scientists with expertise in the broadly defined field of animal physiology whose research uses a mixture of classic and modern approaches. Individuals specializing in neurophysiology, comparative/evolutionary physiology, ecological and environmental physiology, body weight and exercise physiology, cardiovascular physiology, microbiome and toxicology research are particularly encouraged to apply.  The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous extramurally funded research program, to synergize with the existing research in the department and university, and to contribute to the undergraduate and PhD programs.

Assistant Professor in Biochemistry

We are seeking scientists with expertise in the broadly defined area of biochemistry and molecular biology. Current areas of research interest in the department include biomolecular interactions, organelle biochemistry, metabolic pathways, signaling and regulation of gene expression. Synergy with existing research programs within the department or other departments on campus, such as chemistry, computer sciences and/or physics, is also encouraged. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, advising and mentorship of students in the undergraduate and Ph.D. programs.
