Mayo Clinic is seeking applications from outstanding basic science and translational investigators with research programs in basic mechanisms of lung immunology, injury, repair, regeneration, or fibrosis for a Faculty Position in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine with a full joint appointment in basic sciences.

The ideal candidates will be researchers with innovative programs relevant to understanding immune and inflammatory responses of the lung, tissue injury, repair, regeneration or fibrosis as they relate to lung diseases. This career scientist position will receive significant ongoing institutional research support. Candidates who are working on these biological processes in other systems and are committed to re-focusing their studies on the lung are also encouraged to apply. Individuals that meet these criteria and who also possess a successful track record of publications and a strong interest in supporting our outstanding research training and graduate education programs are particularly encouraged to respond. The Mayo Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is top-ranked and internationally recognized for academic and clinical excellence and includes 63 physicians and scientists, outstanding training programs, and a highly interactive, collaborative environment for the investigation of basic mechanisms of lung disease. All basic scientists within Pulmonary and Critical Care also hold joint appointment in related basic sciences department such as the Departments of Immunology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics or Biomedical Engineering. As such, they mentor graduate students and conduct collaborative research with other basic scientists and with physician scientists and clinical investigators.
