Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR) (Ref.: 498583), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant field.  They are expected to have distinguished academic credentials, and internationally acclaimed research and scholarly achievements in one of the following areas: a) genomic biology of liver or liver cancer; b) molecular control of stem cells and cell fate of liver; and c) immunity/immunology of liver cancer.  Preference will be given to those who have proven experience in fostering interdisciplinary research, as well as supervising and mentoring early-career researchers and research students.

The appointee will report to the Director of SKLLR. The key responsibilities include developing independent research programs; fostering academic collaboration within and outside SKLLR/University; assisting SKLLR in achieving the highest standard in liver research; and pursuing new strategic directions for further development of SKLLR.  For more information, please contact Professor Irene Ng at iolng@hku.hk or Ms. Elsie Wu at elsiew@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
