Assistant Professor
Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University at Albany School of Public Health, at the level of Assistant Professor. We are especially interested in candidates conducting research that emphasizes high-throughput and bioinformatic approaches, and whose interests will complement those of our current faculty (https://www.albany.edu/bms).
The successful candidate will join a department comprising faculty at the University at Albany Gen*NY*Sys Center for Cancer Genomics (https://www.albany.edu/cancergenomics/) and the Wadsworth Center (https://www.wadsworth.org), the latter being the research arm of the New York State Department of Health, and will also have the opportunity to join The RNA Institute (https://www.rna.albany.edu/). Current faculty research encompasses diverse topics, including cancer biology, vector-borne transmission of infectious disease, prokaryotic gene regulation, genomics and evolution, mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, structural biology, drug discovery, mucosal immunity, and vaccine development. The School of Public Health is a unique partnership between the University at Albany and the New York State Department of Health, which enables exceptional opportunities for collaborations in both basic and public health-oriented research.
Candidates will have a Ph.D. and at least three years postdoctoral experience.
