Postdoctoral Researcher Position Available in Dr. Li Wu’s Lab 

NIH-funded postdoctoral researcher position available to study HIV interactions with host factors in Dr. Li Wu’s lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Two NIH-funded R01 projects are: (1) Mechanisms of SAMHD1-mediated regulation of HIV-1 innate immunity and viral gene expression; and (2) Mechanisms of HIV-1 RNA modification of N6-methyladenosine in regulating viral replication.

Selected recent publications are: 

Highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. degree (1~3-year experience preferred) in virology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or genetics are encouraged to apply. Experience in virology research (particularly HIV) is desired.

The successful candidate will join an existing team of postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and will have the opportunity to develop independent research projects. Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply. Previous postdocs trained in the lab have become independent faculty members at research universities or senior scientists in the biotech industry.
