We invite applications for a tenure-track Faculty position at Assistant or Associate Professor level, in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology (DCSB) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We seek creative individuals who will develop a cutting-edge research program and lead collaborative research initiatives on the development and use of novel computational models, physical sciences and/or engineering methodologies, machine learning algorithms and quantitative analysis and dissemination tools to address current challenges in computational neurobiology research, with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease and helping to facilitate the translation of basic research into clinical applications.

In addition to Alzheimer’s disease research, the successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and research accomplishments in Computational and Systems Biology including but not limited to the following areas: computational and/or theoretical neurobiology and neuroscience, modeling molecular and cellular structure, dynamics and function; computational genomics and evolutionary biology; mixed data analysis and integration (including image and omics data); drug discovery and quantitative systems pharmacology, with applications to neurobiology and neuroscience. While the position requires interest, vision and accomplishments in computational neurobiology, wet lab experience and goals will be considered as a plus.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor an elite group of students at the Joint Carnegie Mellon University–University of Pittsburgh Ph.D. Program in Computational Biology (CPCB), in addition to the Integrative Systems Biology (ISB) and Center for Neuroscience University of Pittsburgh  (CNUP) Graduate Training Programs, and the Computational Biomedicine and Biotechnology Master’s Program (CoBB).
