The Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track Microbiologist Assistant Professor position. This position is open to all areas of Microbiology including, but not limited to, microbial ecology, microbiomes, microbial physiology, eukaryotic microbiology and host-microbe interactions.

In addition to the Department of Biological Sciences, microbiological research is conducted on campus at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, The School of the Coast & the Environment, and the College of Agriculture, providing numerous opportunities for collaboration.  Additionally, LSU’s Center for Computation and Technology is a valuable resource for research programs with a substantial computational component. 

Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.   Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related field, successful track record of independent research and postdoctoral experience.
