Postdoctoral Scholar in Cancer Biology

Postdoctoral scholar position is available now at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the mission bay campus for an outstanding candidate interested in cancer biology or translational cancer research. Our laboratory is interested in tyrosine kinase proto-oncogenes, how these proto-oncogenes signal in normal physiology, how their functions are perturbed in cancers, and how this information can be translated to highly effective next-generation therapeutics for clinical translation. We have a particular focus on the HER family and the Src family of proto-oncogenes. Our work encompasses a wide range of in vitro and in vivo experimental techniques including protein biochemistry and signaling, gene expression, gene knockdown and knockout models, mouse xenograft and genetic models, and interrogation of clinical samples. We are also involved in several drug discovery efforts to test novel interventional strategies. UCSF is a highly collaborative environment and our laboratory is involved in collaborations with multiple other research programs within the scientific community including programs in systems biology, small molecule discovery, chemistry and chemical biology, and structural biology. We are also actively engaged in translating our laboratory-derived findings into clinical trials conducted at the cancer center. More information available at www.lab.moasser.com. Highly motivated candidates with an MD or PhD and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology please send CV to Mark M. Moasser, MD at mark.moasser@ucsf.edu
