The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast is among the leading EEECS departments in the UK with over 80% of research judged to be internationally excellent or world leading. We have over 200 staff members who teach, mentor, lead and conduct outstanding inter- and multi-disciplinary research drawn from the cornerstone of our future mission to enhance the way we use technology in communication, health services, data security and many other related areas.

The School wishes to recruit Professorial staff in Computer Science in the following areas of interest: Data Science, Computing Systems, Intelligent Systems and Software Engineering.  We invite applications to shape the vision for Computer Science within the school and to take leadership in its delivery. 

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate that they can lead a competitive sustainable research program that will complement the ongoing initiatives within the school and across the faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. They will also contribute to cutting edge educational programs within the school and contribute to the school’s administration and outreach activity as applicable.

The successful candidate must have:

•  A PhD or equivalent in relevant discipline.

•  Extensive high level research experience in relevant subject area that are sustainable and which complement or enhance existing profile within the School and across the faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

•  An extensive and sustained track record of research publications over career in high quality, peer reviewed journals that are REF returnable at international level.

•  Extensive track record of obtaining significant research funding over a sustained period.

•  Experience of leading and involvement in research programmes.

•  Experience of teaching and supervision of students at all levels.
