Perinatal Researcher

An Assistant Professor position (03 311 155) is available in the Applied Perinatal Research Division of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Maryland School of Medicine. Applicants should possess the Ph.D. or M.D. and have postdoctoral experience in reproductive or perinatal physiology with an emphasis on translational in vivo animal research and expertise in molecular biological methods. The candidate must show high potential for developing as an independent investigator. Interest in collaborating with existing basic science and clinical faculty in perinatal research who are focusing on maternal, placental and fetal physiology, endocrinology and development in the primate and other animal species, is essential. The applicant would be expected to take advantage of our baboon colony to pursue research in maternal physiology and/or fetal-placental development in the primate. This position is funded by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences and emphasis is placed on the ability of the candidate to establish an independent NIH funded research program rather than on the specific academic rank. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status, and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Please address a cover letter and curriculum vitae to Eugene D. Albrecht, Ph.D., Head of Perinatal Research Division.
