The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Senior Research Associate with experience in protein biochemistry to express and characterize antibodies and vaccine antigens.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Express proteins mammalian and bacterial cell systems and purifiy them using various chromatography techniques including IMAC, PAC, SEC, HPLC, UF-DF etc.
  • Characterize structural, biophysical and binding properties of purified proteins by SDS-PAGE, Western blot, Baicore (SPR), OCTET, ELISA, thermal melts etc.
  • Manage and inventory laboratory reagents and support logistics of external shipping for partnered programs.
  • Interpret, summarize and present experimental data and results at group meetings, project meetings and department meetings

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Biochemistry, Cell biology or related discipline or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Biochemistry, Cell biology or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience with transient mammalian protein expression as well as portein purification and characterization is required.
  • Proficiency in biochemistry, Western blotting and ELISA assays is required. Experience with various chromatography techniques such as SEC, HPLC, IMAC & Protein A Chromatohraphy is preferred.
  • Candidate will be curious in exploring new path for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. Will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes.
  • The individual must possess excellent data management and verbal/written communication skills, have ability to perform experiments, evaluate and process data, present results in a clear, concise and timely manner, and assist with the preparation of final written reports.
