Search Status: Application material received by October 15, 2019 will receive primary consideration.

Saint Francis University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in the Biology Department beginning August 2020.  This position is intended to serve as Pre-Medicine coordinator for the Biology Department, and would be tasked with helping the University’s Pre-Med programs take a step forward in terms of opportunities for students, student outcomes, and enrollment.  Primary teaching responsibilities would include Comparative Anatomy and Human Anatomy & Physiology, but may also include courses in introductory biology, non-majors biology, and the candidate’s area of expertise. We have particular interest in candidates with research interests involving developmental biology, cell biology, and/or functional morphology.  Candidate is expected to develop an active research program that involves undergraduates. Ability to contribute to the interdisciplinary neuroscience minor would be a plus.

A Ph.D in Biology or related discipline, or an M.D. or D.O. (or equivalent medical degree), is required at time the position starts (ABD applicants will be considered).  Candidate is expected to demonstrate an aptitude for teaching.  Experience as a primary course instructor in college setting is strongly desired. Additional responsibilities will include advising students and University service.

To apply: Complete an application at www.francis.edu/employment  , then email letter of application,  C.V., statement of teaching philosophy, undergraduate research plan, official transcripts, and a list of three references to:  positions@francis.edu.

Review of applications will begin October 15, 2019 with phone and on-campus interviews planned for October through December.
