The Department of Microbiology at the University of Georgia invites applications to fill a full time, non-tenure track lecturer position. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Microbiology or related discipline and a minimum of one year prior teaching experience at the start date for the appointment. The successful candidate is expected to teach four courses each semester, although this requirement may be met in part by teaching multiple sections of a single course. Course assignments will be determined according to the successful applicant’s area of expertise, and may include upper-level undergraduate elective(s). This is a 9-month appointment with a start date of August, 2020; there may also be summer teaching opportunities. Qualified applicants are invited to submit a curriculum vitae and 2-page statement of teaching philosophy online at http://www.ugajobsearch.com/postings/122268 . The teaching statement should include discussion of the candidate’s commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Candidates should also submit names and contact information for three references, who will be asked to provide letters following initial review of applications. Review of applications will begin in November 2019, followed by initial interviews by phone and campus visits to take place in January 2020. Questions may be emailed to mibosearch@uga.edu.
