The laboratory of Dr. Pasi Jänne in the department of Thoracic Oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School, located in Boston, U.S., is issuing an open call for applicants for post-doctoral fellowship for a wide variety of projects in translational research conducted in the lab. The laboratory bridges basic and clinical research, focusing on developing novel treatment strategies for patients with lung and other cancers, asking clinically relevant questions and answering them using patient derived specimens and a wide array of innovative technologies.

Responsibilities
 

The Research Fellow will work on specific projects which may include characterization of molecular mechanisms of drug resistance and persistence, identification and validation of novel oncogenic targets and targeted therapies, and devising research technologies and platforms to guide the development of novel combination treatments. The lab nurtures many collaborative efforts with other academic and non-academic institutions, with the goal of bringing new discoveries to the clinic quickly and/or to publish in high-tier journals to aid in the advancement of the field.

Qualifications
 

The applicant should be a recent graduate or in the final year of his/her Ph.D. and/or M.D., Ph.D. program, have a strong background in cancer cell biology and molecular signaling, and be well-versed in routine cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques. Above all, we are looking for creative minds with genuine interest and drive to accelerate the search for better cancer treatments.
