Research Associate / Staff Scientist -
Hematology and Gene Therapy - Sickle Cell Disease / Hemoglobinopathies
Dr. Punam Malik's lab has an immediate opening for a Research Fellow (postdoc) in the Hematology and Gene Therapy Program. We are looking for successful post-doctoral fellows with a strong publication record in the field of molecular and cellular biology. Prior experience in gene therapy is desirable. The project will utilize cellular, molecular, and biochemical techniques with an emphasis on sickle cell disease, as well as new approaches for gene therapy such as gene editing in hemoglobinopathies. This position is available for a two year period and successful applicant will be mentored in developing independent research projects and grantsmanship to help them develop an independent academic career after this period and be competitive for K awards.
Required: PhD, MD or equivalent doctoral degree and three years of relevant postdoctoral research experience.
