FACULTY POSITION

Molecular and Cellular Biology

Position No. 00006024. The Department of Biological Sciences in Dedman College at Southern Methodist University is under expansion, with plans to fill a number of junior and senior faculty positions in the next five years.  The Department currently invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position, at either the Assistant, Associate or Full level.  Applicants for the position should have a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree, postdoctoral experience, and a record of research excellence.  Senior level applicants should also have a history of significant external support.  Preference will be given to individuals with potential to interact with current faculty in the areas of neurobiology, cancer biology, developmental biology, epigenetics, biochemistry, aging or emerging infectious diseases.

Candidates will be expected to develop a strong extramurally funded research program.  Competitive start-up funds and generous lab space in the Dedman Life Sciences Building will be offered.  The successful candidates also will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.  For a more complete description of our program and facilities, please see our website at http://www.smu.edu/biology/.
