Are you proficient in biochemical characterization of proteins, ranging from basic to more advanced analytical and biophysical techniques? We're looking for someone who is excited to learn and contribute in a dynamic research environment. The Protein Chemistry group at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego is searching for a hardworking scientist with experience in protein purification and characterization. The focus of the work will be to provide efficient and high-quality protein purification and analytical characterization to support the bio-therapeutic discovery efforts at the Lilly Biotechnology Center. In addition, you should have broad knowledge and experience in related fields such as expression of proteins, and analytical and biophysical characterization of proteins. You will join a diverse team of scientists working in a collaborative way to make an impact on patient's lives.

Key Objective/Deliverables:
- Work responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, protein purification, biochemical and biophysical characterization of proteins, new biotechnology development, data analysis and project reporting.
- Work independently at the bench and collaborate with colleagues across various functional areas.
- Conduct research supporting all aspects of discovery and engineering of protein therapeutics.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in biochemical sciences (biochemistry, chemistry, or similar disciplines).
- Prior academic or industry research laboratory experience preferred.

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Strong skills of protein purification techniques. Be able to develop and to implement protein purification methods independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis and record keeping skills with an attention to detail.
- Master's Degree in biochemical sciences (biochemistry, chemistry, or similar disciplines).
- Additional skills in molecular biology, protein biophysics, and assay development would be considered advantageous.
