DESCRIPTION
The UCLA Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is seeking outstanding candidates for the Boyer/ Cram/Libby Teacher-Scholar program. This program provides both teaching and research opportunities forrecentPh.D. graduates (Ph.D. earned 2016-2020).
This program honors UCLA Nobel Laureates Paul D. Boyer, Donald J. Cram, and Willard F. Libby, and recognize their many contributions to the advancement of chemistry and biochemistry. Teacher-Scholars are expected to serve for three-years, with the initial appointment being for one year and subject to renewal for the second and third years. Responsibilities include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and problem sets, supervising teaching assistants, and conducting cutting-edge research with a sponsoring faculty mentor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.
Qualified candidates will be recent Ph.D. recipients in chemistry or biochemistry (Ph.D. earned 2016-2020) and have demonstrated excellence in their previous research and teaching positions. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
