Postdoctoral Fellowship in Viral Oncology
Johns Hopkins University
Postdoctoral position available in the Viral Oncology Program of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Department of Oncology for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to undertake research on molecular interactions and biological activities of interferon regulatory factor and interleukin-6 homologues (vIRFs, vIL-6) encoded by Kaposi’s sarcoma- and primary effusion lymphoma-associated human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8). The projects will involve a variety of molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical approaches to identify and characterize vIRF- and vIL-6-related interactions and complexes and their contributions to HHV-8 latent and productive infection. Experience in molecular biology and tissue culture and the ability to design and conduct experiments independently are essential for the available position; postdoctoral fellows will be expected to participate fully in project development. Applications (including cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references) and enquiries should be addressed to Dr. John Nicholas (nichojo@jhmi.edu).
The Johns Hopkins University is an equal opportunity employer.
