Faculty Position - Open Rank - Non-Human Primate Neuroscience Research
Applications are invited for one tenured/tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor rank starting September, 2020. This search is focused on individuals conducting neuroscience research utilizing non-human primates. Collegial interactions and collaborative research are widespread within the Department of Neuroscience (http://www.neuroscience.pitt.edu/), and across the extensive, and growing, neuroscience community found in Pittsburgh. Our integrative research environment is exemplified by the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP; http://cnup.neurobio.pitt.edu/), the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute (http://www.braininstitute.pitt.edu/) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC; http://www.cnbc.cmu.edu/), which bridges the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent research program and participate in teaching neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum qualifications are a doctoral degree and training in neuroscience or related field, a strong research program focused on fundamental issues in neuroscience that is competitive for external grant funding, a strong record of research productivity consistent with rank, evidence of teaching ability, and a fit with ongoing research programs within the neuroscience community at the University of Pittsburgh. Candidates should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research accomplishments and goals, and a brief description of how your research, teaching, or service demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusion. In addition, please provide names and contact information for three references. Applicants can apply online at: https://facultysearch.as.pitt.edu/apply/index/Mjc1. For each reference, you will have the opportunity to input a personal email address or an email address generated through Interfolio’s Online Application Delivery. In both cases, an email notification will be sent to the designated address with instructions about uploading the letters to our system. For full consideration, application materials must be received by October 15, 2019. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. The position is pending budgetary approval.
