The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Biochemistry and Center for Cancer Research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) invites applications and nominations from nationally and internationally renowned individuals for the position of an endowed chair professor, whose research focuses on the interface between cancer and the host immune system.
The appointed faculty will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of investigators whose expertise spans viral and bacterial infectious diseases, immunology, cancer, drug development, basic mechanisms of diseases, genomics, and bioinformatics. Outstanding College of Medicine collaborative opportunities and excellent resources exist in the Basic Science departments, Pathology, Preventive Medicine, and the Center for Cancer Research. This position comes with a generous start-up package, endowed chair fund and state-of-the-art laboratory space.
The qualified candidate should have an outstanding record of research accomplishments and significant extramural funding. S/he is expected to maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research.
