Laboratory of Dr. John Tilton, MD, Associate Professor

A Senior Research Associate/Research Associate/Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John Tilton at Case Western Reserve University. The Tilton laboratory is a collegial and well-funded lab investigating cutting-edge technologies for delivery of CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing complexes in vivo.

The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in biological sciences with research experience in molecular or cell biology, immunology, virology, or biochemistry. Working under general supervision, the Research Associate/Postdoc will perform experimental work including PCR, recombinant DNA technology and cloning, cell culture, production and analysis of virus-like particles, western blots, gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry, and preparation of samples for mass spectrometry. Experience with these techniques or animal work is desired. The Research Associate/Postdoc will work closely with the principal investigator, laboratory members, and other individuals in the Department and School of Medicine. Generous financial compensation is provided in accordance with experience and productivity.  

Essential job functions include: Planning and carrying out project involving PCR, cloning, and cell culture experiments in accordance with general plans; analyzing results from experiments using flow cytometry, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and mass spectrometry; involvement in developing improved techniques, methods or procedures; working with in-vivo delivery of genome editors in mice.

Qualifications:  Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry or other field in the biological sciences.
