Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join a team developing cancer therapeutics in the Cancer Immunobiology department at our Immuno-Oncology Research and Development Center of Excellence in New York City. Do you have a basic knowledge of cancer immunology with prior academic and/or industry experience? You primary responsibility is to provide support for the discovery and development of novel cancer immunotherapeutic molecules. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting are required.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Assist to characterize the mechanism of action of novel cancer immunotherapies
  • Contribute to the validation of novel targets by running functional in vitro studies using primary and non-primary cells
  • Isolate T cells and other immune cell types from human blood
  • Cell based immunological and functional assays: immunophenotyping by flow cytometry, T cell activation, T cell tumor killing, NK cell activation, reporter assays, signaling assays, proliferation, cytokine production
  • Mammalian cell culture: transfections, stable clone selection, flow cytometry
  • Protein analysis: SDS-PAGE, immunoblot, immunoprecipitation, ELISA
  • Maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook
  • Laboratory maintenance: inventory, purchasing, reagent preparation, etc.
  • Provide written and verbal communication of work, write study reports
  • Attend and contribute in project team meetings

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences (ex. Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology) with at least 2 years of laboratory research experience or
  • M.S. Degree in Biological Sciences with research experience
