Post-Doctoral Fellows - Altieri Lab
The Altieri laboratory at The Wistar Institute seeks motivated, hard-working post-doctoral applicants interested in furthering their careers in the field of cancer biology, in particular metastatic competence and metabolic reprogramming in tumor cells. The laboratory uses a collection of experimental approaches including biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and genetic animal models of localized and disseminated disease to understand the role of mitochondrial reprogramming as a key driver of tumor growth and progression. Ongoing studies focus on the role of mitochondrial cell death pathways, oxidative metabolism and protein folding quality control in modulation of tumor cell motility, invasion and proliferative potential and actionable therapeutic targets.
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent, proven experimental background in cancer biology and pertinent peer-reviewed publications. Interested applicants should apply online and also email their CV along with a cover letter briefly describing their research interest and accomplishments to Maria Colelli, President’s Office (colelli@wistar.org).
The Wistar Institute is located in the University City area of Philadelphia, in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania Campus. Wistar provides resources to its faculty and staff that enable them to conduct cutting edge collaborative research and provides for outstanding intellectual environments and state-of-the-art facilities. Research discoveries conducted at Wistar have led to the development of vaccines; the identification of genes associated with cancers; and the development of many other significant research technologies and tools.
