Job Details

We are looking for a highly motivated Biologist with a broad background encompassing in vitro and in vivo biology to join our discovery research team within the Biotherapeutic Enabling Biology group in Biotechnology Discovery Research. Are you ready to combine a passion to explore novel biology with a rationale-based and hypothesis-driven scientific approach? We are looking for engaged biologists to contribute to our work to make an impact on improving the lives of the patients we serve.

You will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific team to discover and advance large molecule drugs to combat disease in Immunology, Oncology, Neurodegeneration and Diabetes. You will design and execute biochemical, in vitro, and in vivo studies to discover and gain insight on novel therapeutic proteins and antibodies and will initially be focused on the Neurodegeneration space.
Desired Qualifications
Biology experience including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Mammalian cell culture techniques for cell maintenance, stable cell line generation, and luciferase reporter assays.
  • Biochemical and cell-based assay development to support novel target validation and therapeutic antibody screening and characterization
  • Design and execution of in vivo studies and handling, processing, and analysis of tissues
  • Molecular biology to enable analysis of gene and protein expression as well as biomarker levels

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cell/Molecular Biology, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • Prior experience working in a research laboratory

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry or academic research experience
  • MS degree in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related discipline preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in large molecule platforms for early phase drug discovery
  • Contribute to projects incorporating biochemical, in vitro, and in vivo approaches with direct, hands-on experience in all three approaches
  • In vivo experience within the central nervous system focused on CSF fluid collection, brain dissection and isolation of tissue and cells.
  • Ability to work efficiently in an interdisciplinary team environment with a team-first attitude
  • Desire and ability to learn, adapt, and take on new and difficult challenges
  • Capable of independently planning and conducting experiments, generating data, interpreting results, and documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
