Post-Doctoral Fellow
Pharmaceutical Sciences
A post-doctoral position is available in Dr. Sandra Reznik's lab at St. John's University for an exciting project focused on the effect of immune tolerance on high fat diet induced metabolic dysfunction, inflammation and gut dysbiosis. The goal of this externally funded project is to test the hypothesis that a product manufactured by the program sponsor has both immune stimulating and immunosuppressant properties and has therapeutic potential for high fat diet induced disorders via its favorable effects on the gut microbiome. Other projects in the lab are focused on adverse effects of high fat diet in pregnancy and the development of novel pharmacotherapy for inflammatory disorders. Qualified Ph.D.'s interested in drug development for inflammation driven disorders ranging from preterm birth to Alzheimer's disease, preferably with experience in animal handling, qPCR and flow cytometry, should apply. The lab is located on a beautiful university campus 30 minutes from Manhattan and is part of a vibrant and diverse community in Queens, NY. Sponsorship for international applicants will not be provided.
St. John's offers a competitive compensation program which is commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and contingent upon the departmental budget. We also offer an extremely comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our workforce. Along with exceptional benefits such as medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, tuition remission, generous 403(b) employer contribution, employee assistance program, and liberal paid time off policies, faculty and staff can also enjoy St. John's performing arts, libraries, bookstores, dining facilities, campus recreation and sporting events.
Any offer of employment is subject to receipt by St. John's University of satisfactory references, verification of employment and education.
St. John's University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from women and minorities. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national or ethnic origin, age, status as an individual with a disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
