The Department of Biology at Drexel University invites applicants for a Post-doctoral Fellow for NSF funded research in the area of neuro-epigenetics and STEM education. Duties of this postdoctoral fellow are equally divided between primary research focused on neuro-epigenetics, teaching of a laboratory CURE class (Classroom Undergraduate Research Experience), and pedagogical research associated with teaching the CURE. The fellow will conduct research in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Marenda and Dr. Jennifer Stanford, and will have opportunities to supervise graduate and undergraduate researchers in this context. In addition, the fellow will teach laboratory courses under the supervision of these mentors. The initial appointment is for two years, with a third year possible by mutual agreement between the fellow, the faculty mentor, and the Department. Qualifications: PhD in Biology or Biologically related field required. Applicants with expertise in epigenetics and with teaching undergraduates will be particularly well suited for this position.  

Responsibilities: With mentorship, the fellow will engage in primary research focused on neuro-epigenetics, teach a laboratory CURE course, and engage in education research. The fellow will be expected to publish and present findings at conferences.
