A postdoctoral position is available to undertake research in the area of axonal degeneration/regeneration (http://researchers.uq.edu.au/research-project/27230) in the lab of Professor Massimo Hilliard (http://researchers.uq.edu.au/researcher/1954), at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) (https://qbi.uq.edu.au/) within The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia (https://www.uq.edu.au/).
The Hilliard laboratory uses C. elegans and mice as experimental model systems to study axonal injury and repair. Using primarily a genetic approach, research in the lab aims to identify the key molecules and the mechanisms regulating these essential and fascinating processes. A strong background in Molecular Biology, Genetics and Cell Biology are required, and experience with C. elegans and/or cell culture is desirable. Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant discipline and publications in international scientific journals.
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic Research level A for two year initially with renewal subject to performance and funding.
The remuneration package will be in the range of AUD$67,452 - $90,982 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$79,025 - $106,449 p.a., pending experience).
