Job Details

The Laboratories of Neuroimmunology consist of the research teams of five collaborating Principal Investigators who aim at understanding chronic pain, cognitive deficits and fatigue in response to cancer treatment and in conditions of nerve damage or chronic inflammation.

We are seeking a bioinformatician who would be responsible for developing innovative approaches, design experiments and analysis of large data sets from RNAseq and single cell RNAseq analysis in close collaboration with the PIs, post docs, students and research assistants. Key Functions

* Design experiments and perform bioinformatical analysis of large data sets generated in close collaboration with the PI's of the laboratories of Neuroimmunology.

* Develops novel strategies to analyze complex data sets.

* Reports on results of the research in lab meetings and in written and verbal form to supervisor/collaborators.

* Writes manuscripts describing results of her/his research projects in collaboration with PIs.

* Supervises post doctoral fellows in the department with respect to data analysis and interpretation and experimental design.

EDUCATION:
Required: PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree

Preferred: PhD in bioinformatics or with a strong bioinformatics component in bioinformatics or with a strong bioinformatics component.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: With PhD, no experience required. With Medical degree, two years of experience in experimental or scientific work.

Preferred: At least two years of experience with analysis of RNA seq or comparable data sets. Experience with data analysis in the context of neuroscience.
