Job Details

The Role:

Moderna is seeking an energetic, highly organized and collaborative individual to assume responsibility for organization and support services for multiple research laboratories, to maximize the scientific productivity of the Platform laboratory staff. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of technical and operational aspects of laboratory activities support in a biotech/pharma setting. The individual will proactively communicate and collaborate with team colleagues, as well as environmental health and safety, facilities, project management and IT, to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Work closely with laboratory and support staff to enable an efficient working environment
  • Generate and update operating procedures
  • Ordering of reagents and consumables, and maintaining point of use storage
  • Establish and maintain a supply inventory system
  • Shipping of materials both internally and externally
  • Conduct regular upkeep, and coordinate installation, preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Work with staff on reagent and buffer preparation
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and training in laboratory operations
  • Help to maintain Platform team intranet webpages
  • Organize laboratory meeting schedules
  • Lead laboratory clean-ups
  • Take an active role on EHS related activities including laboratory safety training and compliance
  • Point person for facilities related activities and requests
  • Responsible for alarm response and communication for controlled temperature units


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • B.S./M.S. with 2-5 years' experience in laboratory support services, and/or 8-10+ years' more general experience gained working in a laboratory.
  • Self-motivated and independent work-ethic
  • Highly organized work style and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Candidate will be curious in exploring new opportunities for operational efficiency, bold in proposing creative ideas for laboratory improvements. Will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes
