The Department of Microbiology & Immunology in Glendale, AZ invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, a minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral training, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and research.  Teaching responsibilities will include participation in team-taught microbiology courses offered to osteopathic medical, podiatry, pharmacy, dental, optometry, veterinary, and health science students.  Preference will be given to applicants broadly trained in medical and/or veterinary microbiology.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are expected.  The successful candidate will be expected to establish and develop a rigorous research program capable of attracting extramural funding.  Midwestern University has an active research community with diverse interests that provides ample opportunity for collaborative research.  A start-up package, office and research space, core facilities, and technical support will be provided.
