Ⅰ. School Profile

China Three Gorges University, approved by the Ministry of Education, founded by the former Wuhan University of Water and Electric Power (Located at Yichang) and the former Hubei Three Gorges College on June 29, 2000, is a key comprehensive university in Hubei Province. The school is located in Yichang City, the capital of the world's hydropower and where the Three Gorges Project sits. As a sub-central city of Hubei Province, Yichang has earned the reputation as one of the "Top Ten Livable Cities in China," boasting its beautiful landscape and pleasant climate. Jointly built by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hubei Province Government, CTGU is also the National “Excellent Engineering Education Training Plan” Implementation University. In 2018, the school was listed as "The First-Class Constructive University in China" by the Provincial Government. Some of the disciplines like Water Conservancy Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering have been listed as "The First-Class Constructive Disciplines in China."

The school now enjoys 4 first-level disciplines for doctoral authorization, 1 postdoctoral mobile research station, 26 first-level disciplines for master’s authorization, with more than 22,000 full-time undergraduate students, 4,400 doctoral and master’s candidates and more than 1,400 foreign students at school; There are over 1,000 professors and associate professors, 130 doctoral supervisors, 80 experts at national and provincial level and above, and 100 high-level talents selected in "Hundred People Plan" and "Chutian Scholars Plan" Distinguished Professors of Hubei Province.

Ⅳ. Subsidies and Benefits

(1). Leading talents at provincial and ministerial level or above, treatment standards are implemented according to the "CTGU Hierarchy Recruitment Program for Global High-level Talents" on a case-by-case basis.

(2). For excellent experts with doctoral degree or post-doctoral researchers, house benefits of 200-550 thousand yuan is provided; research start-up fund ranges 10-30 thousand yuan; doctoral allowance is 24,000 yuan/person. Those who have been approved as provincial-level talents are subject to the “CTGU Hierarchy Recruitment Program for Global High-level Talents” and are also determined on a case-by-case basis.
