The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development (GCD) at the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities has multiple tenure-track openings at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. GCD is a vibrant, multi-disciplinary department with outstanding faculty expertise in genetics, cellular biophysics, and developmental biology. We are seeking collaborative faculty who will complement our research expertise in emerging faculty clusters focused on human genomics, synthetic and cellular engineering, cancer biology, and developmental genetics. Investigators employing these approaches in organoid platforms are especially encouraged to apply. GCD faculty span the Medical School and the College of Biological Sciences and have access to excellent core facilities, an interdisciplinary environment integrated with translational research, engineering and computational expertise, and life sciences research across scales from atoms to organisms. GCD is centered in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, which consistently ranks as one of the top places to live in the U.S. and is a hub for biotech and biopharmaceutical companies. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level are expected to have an outstanding track-record of academic excellence with the drive to establish extramurally-funded research programs, including both independent and collaborative lines of investigation. Applicants at the Associate Professor level are expected to be experts in their fi eld,  have an established extramurally funded research program, and a robust track-record of publication and collaborative science. All applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. or an M.D./Ph.D. degree.
