Postdoctoral Position in Systems Genetics, Cardiac and Metabolic Physiology

A postdoctoral position is available within the Seldin Lab at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine). Our lab is interested in understanding mechanisms of tissue-tissue communication using both informatics and experimental approaches. Specifically, we survey mouse and human population data (ex. RNA-sequencing) for striking patterns of endocrine interactions then mechanistically dissect using gain- or loss-of-function models. We have a particular interest in identification of regulators of skeletal muscle and cardiac physiology.

We are seeking independent and motivated postdoctoral candidates interested in a multi-disciplinary approach to Physiology. This is a new lab at UCI and we are open to diverse questions in biology and disease. While some bioinformatics expertise is an advantage, it is not required. Experience with mouse models of disease, basic biochemical techniques and an understanding of physiology is needed.

Relevant publications for the lab can be found here:

The Seldin Lab is part of the Department of Biological Chemistry and the Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism at UC Irvine. We are located in Southern California, between Los Angeles and San Diego. For further details about UC Irvine and Southern California, please see: https://uci.edu/
