Tenure-Track Faculty Position in the Cancer Biology and Therapeutics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Cancer Biology and Therapeutics Research Program of NCCC, one of 51 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Primary academic appointment in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology is anticipated, although primary appointment in other academic departments within the Geisel School of Medicine may be considered based on optimal alignment of the candidate’s research interests. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative research program in translational cancer research, focused on developing, validating, or advancing novel therapeutic strategies or drug targets for cancer in innovative, translationally relevant models. Individuals that use modern genomic, genetic, pharmacological, bioinformatic, or other innovative approaches to achieve these research goals are encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates at senior ranks may also be considered.

Expectations for teaching and mentoring are a critical part of this role, and individuals will be provided with such opportunities through membership in relevant PhD graduate programs (e.g., the Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology, the Program in Experimental & Molecular Medicine the and/or the Program in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences. In addition to NCCC, candidates may benefit from interactions with four existing NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs) and Dartmouth's SYNERGY Clinical and Translational Science Institute. A generous start-up package as well as access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided. Successful candidates are expected to develop and advance an independent research program and participate in graduate student teaching.
