Postdoctoral Fellow, UNC-CH HIV Cure Center
The UNC HIV Cure Center seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work in the laboratory of Edward Browne, PhD, to further our study of the immunology of HIV reservoirs, latency reversal, and clearance. The successful candidate will bring experience in virology or immunology as well as the confidence and creativity to make individual contributions and drive the science forward. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology, virology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in basic science models of host:pathogen interaction, infection and immunology. Proficiency in tissue culture, cellular immunology, flow cytometry and in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA analysis by qPCR, western blot, ELISA, etc. are preferred. Candidates should also have strong laboratory and analytical skills as demonstrated by a strong track record of relevant publications in well-respected journals. Outstanding communication skills in English are essential for this position.
