Assistant Professor in Science, Technology and International Affairs

Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Science, Technology, and International Affairs. Successful applicants will have a research focus that combines the international policy dimensions of one or several topics that are core to the Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) program with scientific or technical expertise. The School has a particular interest in candidates with research and teaching interests in the areas of climate science, resilience and security; environmental and/or planetary health; cybersecurity, geospatial intelligence or environmental security; or emerging technologies; but all exceptional candidates will be considered.  

We seek a scholar who has demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service. The qualified candidate will have some science, engineering or other technical background and a strong international orientation in research. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to exceptional undergraduate and graduate teaching and would be expected to develop courses to meet the needs of the STIA program and SFS. 

Applicants should provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, recent teaching evaluations (if available), and copies of 3 recently published papers, working papers, or dissertation chapters. All candidates must hold a PhD by the time of employment. The start date for this position is August 1, 2020.
